What is MSQH?
- Hospital accreditation is a process that assesses a hospital’s performance against a set of standards.
- In Malaysia, most hospitals go through an accreditation process by Malaysian Society for Quality in Health (MSQH).
- MSQH promotes safety and quality in the provision of healthcare services in Malaysia.
- It is in partnership with Malaysia’s Ministry of Health, Association of Private Hospitals Malaysia (APHM) and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA).
- The MSQH accreditation is valid for four years after which, hospitals need to go for another accreditation inspection for the certificate renewal.

A telehealth consultation service is the use of audio/video/text communications that allows healthcare providers to carry out medical consultations remotely. Consultations via telehealth differs from face-to-face doctor/patient visits, as both parties will be at separate locations. This type of healthcare service allows Columbia Asia doctors to provide consultations without the patient being physically present at the hospital.
Among services available on this platform are follow-up consultations with Columbia Asia Hospital consultants, prescriptions for drug refills as well as medicine home delivery (applicable only to Malaysian addresses). However, if the consultant decides that you should have a physical examination or diagnostic tests, you may be asked to go to the hospital for a face-to-face appointment.
On average, each consultation will take about 15 to 20 minutes. It may take longer depending on the consultant’s discretion. Complex cases may require your presence at the hospital for a physical examination or diagnostic tests.
Teleconsultations are not recorded. Its platform is encrypted and utilizes HIPAA-compliant video technology. We understand and prioritize medical sensitivities so you can rest assured that your privacy and safety are secured.
You can book your appointment and reserve your preferred slot up to three days in advance.
Phone Consultation Our admin personnel will liaise with you on your preferred paying method and related processes.
Video Consultation On the DoctorOnCall platform, proceed to the payment page after confirming your appointment. Choose your preferred payment method from the options given; credit/debit card, online banking or e-wallets such as TnG, Grab and Boost.
Phone Consultation To cancel, you may contact the hospital for the arrangement.
Video Consultation If you would like to cancel your appointment after it has been confirmed, payment will not be refunded. If the consultant suddenly becomes unavailable to participate or finish the video consultation, we will reschedule the appointment.
To reschedule, you may contact the hospital for the arrangement. However, as much as we understand that sometimes situations don’t always go our way, we would appreciate if you can maintain the slot reserved for you.
Any insurance claim is subjected to the coverage offered by respective insurance providers. We would advise you to contact your insurance provider regarding claims to do with teleconsultation.
Your medication will arrive on the same day as your teleconsultation, if prescribed and paid for before 6pm. After 6pm, medication will be delivered the next day. For Klang Valley, same day express delivery is available. For other states in Malaysia, delivery time is between one and two days.
